The limited edition book Totem is published on the occasion of the exhibition Cathrine Raben Davidsen - Totem. 8 February - 31 March 2019 in collaboration with Royal Copenhagen Denmark. Book design by La Graphic Design. A set of two hardback books compromising paintings, drawings, etchings and ceramics with the introduction text " Totem - Animism, Spirituality and Rhizomatic Connections" by art historian and curator Aukje Lepoute Ravn and art historian Lone Rahbek Christensen.
Totem is a product of Raben Davidsen’s two-year artistic collaboration with Royal Copenhagen. Staged as a total installation the exhibition presents a completely new body of work consisting of ceramics, drawings, paintings and an animation film, that are thematically inspired by prehistoric ceramics, animistic spirituality and totemism.
