This lithograph draw on the myth of Argos Panoptes from Ovid’s Metamorphoses—the many-eyed guardian condemned to perpetual vigilance. In a world marked by instability, crisis, and continuous change, Argos emerges as a figure of endurance: one who remains awake when rest is impossible, who continues to witness when turning away would be easier.
Argos embodies a state of sustained awareness that resonates deeply with the present condition. To live today is to be exposed to overlapping realities—personal, collective, ecological—requiring resilience. His many eyes suggest not only surveillance, but sensitivity: the capacity to remain present, to absorb, and to persist.
In this series of lithographs, Argos becomes a metaphor for resilience itself. The body may falter, but awareness continues. The gaze endures. What remains is the act of witnessing.
