Explanation of an AP Print:
In printmaking, it is a tradition to produce a small number of additional prints alongside the main edition. These are marked as AP (Artist Proof), EA (épreuve d’artiste), or BAT (bon à tirer). Originally reserved for the artist or printer, artist proofs are now often sold like the regular edition.
Collectors value artist proofs for their rarity, but there is no artistic or technical difference between them and the main edition. If a print is labeled 6/20, it simply means, that it is number 6 out of a total of 20 prints.
